Travel awards to the annual HHS annual SBIR/STTR meeting. This meeting is organized by the NIH SBIR program with the primary goal of attracting biomedical small businesses and training them in SBIR/STTR grant applications. The meeting provides training sessions covering how to write this type of application, animal use, human subjects, etc. They also conduct sessions regarding FDA regulations, intramural NIH resources, and one-on-one mentoring wherein individuals may meet program officers from the different NIH institutes. These very useful meetings are an opportunity familiarize oneself with the NIH personnel.
