Introduction
Negotiation is often portrayed as dramatic, and while certain aspects of negotiations can be intense, and yes, sometimes even dramatic, the best negotiations are over before they (apparently) begin. Building your case, your alternatives, your supporters, and potentially limiting your counterparty’s case, alternatives, and supporters, then bringing it all together into one decisive thrust is the goal. Reality is typically a bit messier.
